FEBRUARY:

Custom Furniture: from Functional To Artistic

Bill Dickinson of Dickinson’s Custom Furniture designs and builds unique custom wood furniture and other wood items that are both functional and artistic. Bill and his team design and build their pieces using various combinations of wood, from Indiana grown walnut to South American purple heart as well as both veneers and solid woods to create unique pieces that are a must see.

CrazyLake will feature a selection of their small furniture pieces, from boxes to tables and chairs, bowls, plates, vases, pens and many other unique items. They also create clocks, baskets, images and plaques along with segmentations, marquetry and parquetry pieces that are displayed as art work or embedded in their custom furniture.

JANUARY:

Our featured artist in January was Rushville native Tom Lanham.

Tom Lanham is a 40 year second generation painter. He attended Herron Art Institute where he majored in art history and post modern sculpture and has exhibited in Chicago, New York, Boston, the New England Artea  and in various galleries and museums in Indianapolis.

Tom has also executed commissioned murals for Goodman Jewelers, designed interior and stage design for IRT, the Arts Indiana Post Card series and participated in the annual Hancock County Arts Council Will Vawter art show.

His commercial painting works customers have included the Mural Temple, the Governor’s mansion, the Indiana State House, while residential works have included homes featured on the million dollar show home tours.

Tom enjoys creating installations, portraits, landscapes and abstract works, as well as religious, historical and still-life arts.

He is also a 40 year percussionist for several road bands, and has participated in recordings and the creation of original music.
