ABOUT  THE ARTIST:

Nancy Leslie

As an artist, I consider myself one who creates, the medium of the moment cannot define who I am.

I am an artist. I paint, I draw, I write, I capture moments with photography, I create using traditional and electronic tools. I sing, I design and create jewelry, I have even been known to sculpt now and then. I place no limits on my creative outlet. To me, the only desire contained within a piece of art is to be loved, even if only by its creator. Once it has that love, its destiny has been fulfilled. I love my work. A piece isn't complete until it has my true love and approval.

My art has deep genetic roots. One grandmother was a painter, the other a dancer. I was given the opportunity to sing and dance as a child and grew to explore other ways of expressing myself as an adult. I have also studied the works of Warhol, Rauschenberg, and the great impressionists.

A graphic designer by trade, I create on a regular basis within extreme restrictions. When in my studio, those restrictions are removed and I am free to follow any path inspired by my heart and imagination.

Moving to Greenfield 3 years ago allowed me to fully develop my studio as a library of creativity. When I am lost, I simply look around and find a project that will capture me and allow me to find my focus again. Crazy Lake Art House is my first opportunity to "officially" show my work. With a studio full of realized work waiting to be shown, I plan to showcase a variety different mediums over the coming months.
