Jennifer Meeker
My interest in art has been with me since I was a young child in New Palestine, Indiana, and was much recognized for my talent. I did not start considering it a future career until I was very involved in art classes in high school. I graduated in 2005 with several honors. At present, I am a student at Herron School of Art in Indianapolis. I will be graduating in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, with my focus in photography and ceramics along with a music minor. I also have been involved in music, such as playing the saxophone.
The areas that I enjoy working with is film photography, ceramics, painting, and digital photography. My inspirations are just simply my observations of the world around me. This could include scenes from the city streets to nature. The recent theme in my artwork has been trees. I enjoy observing the relationship that nature has with man. I also love to use striking colors in my work, but also like traditional black and white film photography. In paintings and drawings I like to approach it with a realistic but abstract style. My goal is to become a well known artist.
