ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Jeanne Zeigler is a silver smith, enamellist and miniature painter who lives in Greenfield. She also co-owns a music store, Indy CD & Vinyl, with her husband, Rick, in Indianapolis.
Jeanne has a BFA in painting from the University of Rhode Island. After previous incarnations as a graphic artist, photographer, ceramist, mother, Buddhist monk, and freelance writer, she took up metal smithing six years ago.
Her jewelry work was accepted in two juried shows at the Indianapolis Art Center, winning a beading award one year and the “Best of Jewelry, Enameling, and Fine Metal Smithing” the next. She has also shown at the Fogg Gallery and at Dave Dale Designs Fine Art Gallery.
Reflecting her fascination with sacred art, Jeanne paints retablos (small paintings of Catholic saints) and makes relicarios. (A devotional necklace whose centerpiece is a miniature painting of a religious subject.) In addition, she also designs enameled decorative jewelry. Her newest project, filigree silver jewelry, can be found here in the Crazy Lake Art Gallery.
Jeanne also shares a second floor gallery, the Sugar Creek Gallery, and studio with Denise Goodrich.
